Marlay Park - Dublin

Following on from the great success of last year's show, Gary Ó'Nualláin will return to Marlay Park for Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council's Summer of Music 2019 festival.

Last year saw rave reviews, many songs, and one farmers tan that didn't shift until long into the winter. This year Gary will be joined by world renowned Irish whistle player Luke Currivan, and traveling electric guitar virtuoso Dave Singleton.

This Celtic Indie 3 piece will offer a stripped down flavour of Ó'Nualláin's full band setup. With influences ranging from The Pogues, and Damien Dempsey, to Oasis, and The Stone Roses, the songs are a versatile mix of foot stomping ballads, and punch the air indie pop songs.

On the back of the release of Gary Ó'Nualláin's debut single Victories, he is set to play a headline show at Dublin's Grand Social venue. This Celtic Indie troubadour fuses trad roots with his own indie influences, to create a mishmash of naive nostalgia, poitical discourse, and a middle finger to the powers that be.

A huge admirer of Richard Ashcroft, and Bono, Ó'Nualláin plays on similar dynamics. A romantic idealism, emotional fragility, and yet never being afraid to have an opinion. He brings stylistic inspiration from his other influences such as Oasis, The Stone Roses, and The Lemonheads.

The gig coincides with the release of Ó'Nualláin's debut EP, Victories of the Forgotten Generation.
